July 2010

I want to start off by thanking everyone who attended my Birthday Mystery Trip.  The theme of the day was summer camp in the Redwoods.  Ironically, I attended a Summer Camp in the same location when I was in my early teens.  There were many activities to choose from, but my choice was the zip line course.  To ride a 1000 foot long cable, from tree top to tree top at a speed of 40 miles per hour was thrilling.

We have had some great trips since our last Newsletter.  Chicago was fantastic (you should have seen Bill Montgomery’s Groucho Marx impersonation) and the Lewis and Clark tour remains one of Daytripping’s greatest adventures.  Because Daytripping played a special part in the lives of Bill and Pat Webster it was with joy that we celebrated their 5th Wedding Anniversary with them on the 4th of July Lake Tahoe trip – Pat and Bill were married at the Cloud Nine Wedding Chapel in South Lake Tahoe on Daytripping’s 2005 4th of July trip after having met a few weeks prior on the Lewis & Clark trip - a cause for true celebration.

Our next presentation will be at the St. Rose Church on September 1st.  We are going to try a different format.  The extended tours will be presented from 11:00 am to 12:00pm followed by lunch and entertainment.  The day trips will then be presented from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.  You may attend the entire day or just what interests you.

We have moved the office from upstairs to down in the clubhouse.  Since I turned 48, I just can’t manage the stairs anymore.  All kidding aside, having the office upstairs proved to be unworkable.  The new location will give you better access to the staff and will be more efficient for the office.
