This tour will start with a cooking demonstration at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St Helena. During the weekends, the CIA's DeBaun Theatre comes to life with live cooking demos performed by the school's renowned chef-instructors. The one-hour events feature recipes that reflect the seasonal flavors of the Napa Valley wine country. After the demo, you will then be guided on a tour the facility and grounds, including the Institues garden. After the tour we will gather for a sumptious three course lunch at the Greystone Restaurant.

At The California Musical Theater in Sacramento see Burn The Floor Ballroom Dance Spectacular. The New York Times calls this show spectacular “Dazzling!” as dancers take a global journey to a Viennese ball, a bullfight and a World War II era jitterbug blowout. Fans of “Dancing with the Stars” will enjoy the stunning sequences as the waltz, foxtrot, tango, cha cha, samba, paso doble, rumba and jive are used to create a passionate drama of dance. A tradition since 1981, Fleet Week is the most anticipated Fall event in San Francisco. With an estimated audience of 1 million, spectators are drawn every year to the city's northern waterfront to be awed by a parade of Navy ships, along with a spectacular aerial show that includes the Navy Blue Angels. Also on hand are a variety of other nighttime entertainment venues that kick off just as the sun sets over San Francisco Bay. Special front row reserved seats will allow maximum enjoyment of all the shows. A box lunch will be provided.

The Napa Valley Wine Train provides a relaxing three hour journey along the thirty six mile round-trip between the historic town of Napa through one of the world's most famous wine valleys to the quaint village of St. Helena and back. You will be dining in the Silverado Car. The Silverado, was refurbished and put on line in 1998. Decorated in a rustic style reminiscent of a Hollywood Western, this Rail car has quickly become a favorite with its casual atmosphere and sliding windows to capitalize on the wonderful moderate climate of the Napa Valley.

Today we will travel the backroads trough the quaint Delta towns of Walnut Grove and Rio Vista stopping to visit off-the-beathen-path attractions from America's only endive producer to an art gallery. Late lunch/early dinner will be at a great Delta Joint - Guisti' Place - featured on Guy Fieri's Drive Ins, Diners & Dives show. It's run by 4th generation of the family and Grandpa was good friends with Earle Stanley Gardner, who wrote Perry Mason and hung out in the Delta. The Highlight of the day will be the Isleton Crane Preserve where docents with high powered telescopes will teach us about the cranes prior to sunset when the cranes fly. They will take your breath away! A new twist for Daytripping's annual Sandhill Crane Tour.

Yolo Wool Mill's Annual Mill-In is a fun and educational event demonstrating how wool from the backs of sheep ( and other fiber animals) becomes the sweater on your back. You can also stop by the petting zoo featurning the many 'fiber' animals.
