Ascend two and one half miles to a pristine wilderness aboard the world's largest rotating tramcars to enjoy spectacular views of the Chino Canyon and the San Jacinto Mountains and the Sonoran Desert and lunch at the Top of the Tram. There is also a 20 minute film on the history and construction of the tram for those interested.

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is the largest state park in California and offers unparalleled opportunity to experience the wonders of the California Desert. The park is named after Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza and the Spanish name borrego, or bighorn sheep. The park features washes, wildflowers, palm groves, cacti and sweeping vistas. Visitors may also have the chance to see roadrunner, golden eagles, kit foxes, mule deer and bighorn sheep as well as iguanas, chuckwallas and the red diamond rattlesnake.

Imagine yourself on a mule-drawn covered wagon like the early settlers experienced while traveling across our rugged desert landscape. There is no better way to get a close-up look at the Palm Springs area desert than a real Covered Wagon Tour. After the tour enjoy a delicious western barbecue with live entertainment. Out on the trail an expert naturalist guide provides a comprehensive and informative interpretation of the wildlife, desert ecology and earthquake geology of this vibrant and vast desert area. A discussion of the local Indian's customs and practices is also included in the presentation while on the meandering trail. Returning to the campsite the covered wagon visits a lush green palm oasis with its mysterious scenery and tranquil calm as the guide reveals its secrets. A very captivating experience with an impressive landscape seen up close from the covered wagon. Returning to the campsite the guests are greeted with live western entertainment before enjoying our delicious western Bar-B-Q buffet. While dining, guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley and local mountains. Be sure to visit our boot hill and western artifact display located around the campsite for a revealing look at the pioneer way of life.
